Bank of Cyprus, Hellenic bank and Bank Piraeus are trusted banks also outside of Cyprus I read. Wouldn't mind to open an account there.

Do you mean merchant account like bank account or what's up with it?

Many still say Cyprus is not safe to incorporate, what do you think? I'm close to get my company setup there just need more research before my final decission.

Still remains, how do we find out where to get the business setup. What makes one offshore jurisdiction better than the other? Why would X be better than Y for X business type?

No one has a simple answer to this question. It can't be true that you need to live in the offshore country to avoid to pay tax... there must be a way to avoid paying taxes locally if you are able to register a offshore company somewhere somehow.
