    UAE residency 183 days - what's reality?

If I get a UAE residency permit as a freelancer or as a UAE company owner, technically I need to stay there at least 183 days in a year. What's the reality though? Does the UAE check if I'm really there?

    Social contributions in Cyprus

As an owner and director of a CY company or a branch of a foreign company in CY, are there any minimal social contributions that would need to be paid even without a salary?

AML SAR - how are they treated by the receiving institution?

The point is that I don't want them to know about my Wise account which, being an EMI, may attract a more thorough investigation of place of effective management of my companies, tax residency etc. Even though the arrangement is legal, since I spend time in both countries, there's a risk the...

AML SAR - how are they treated by the receiving institution?

I've had to explain certain transfers in my account to my bank, the source of the money and the identity of the recipient and reasons for the transactions. The source of the money was an account that I hold abroad and declare every year. Money coming to that account were a salary from my local...

USA LLC and Cyprus non-dom. What taxes?

You're not a tax resident as a non-dom in a way that if the business activity, based on which you're receiving the capital gains, was occurring outside of Cyprus and you don't transmit them to Cyprus, they're not taxable in Cyprus. But if the capital gains are arising from Cyprus and you're a...

    rent a company

Yeah the problem with this rented company is that it's obvious. A simple google search of an invoicing entity will bring you to their website. And from there everything is well documented, you have to sign contracts, they do KYC etc. If for whatever reason the tax authorities decide to audit you...

    rent a company

Would a Delaware LLC be an alternative to this? No transaction fees, full control, full anonymity. Not sure how the local tax authorities would view payments sent to or received from a Delaware LLC. I suspect they'd view it as a red flag and a reason for audit.

A freelancing platform that issues invoices in its name?

https://www.opeha.com/what-is-rimuut-and-how-it-works-for-freelancer/ That's pretty cool, looks like that's exactly what I'm looking for. So essentially I'd have my company sign a contract with Rimuut, and Rimuut will sign a contract with my sole proprietorship. The company will receive invoices...

A freelancing platform that issues invoices in its name?

If you perform the business elsewhere and manage it elsewhere too, that country can and will demand the portion of profit attributable to that country to be taxed there according to the double tax treaty, so in effect it will be taxable entirely there. Moreover usually you have an obligation to...

A freelancing platform that issues invoices in its name?

Thanks for the replies. The problem with these platforms is that the decision to use them is on the freelancer's side, they're “virtual” companies. If my freelancer already has an entity in his place if residency, I can't tell him to forget it and use this “virtual” company service to do...

A freelancing platform that issues invoices in its name?

Anyone knows a freelancing platform like Upwork or Freelancer that issues invoices in its own name, instead of the name of the freelancer's entity?

Le Pen winning the france election?

Even though she lost, Le Pen achieved the best result ever. If it goes like this, the next time she'll have a real chance to win.

Le Pen winning the france election?

In a way yes, but not completely. She too has a bit socialistic leaning, just national socialistic. Don't expect deep budget cuts from her. To get funds from Putin at this point is a death sentence ...

USA LLC and Cyprus non-dom. What taxes?

It's about the company, not the person. An LLC is typically considered a full company outside of the US, taxable with a CIT, not a personal income tax. This all is specified in the DTT between the country and the US.

    How does AML reporting work?

Setup with US LLC -> Dubai company

Normally if you're a non-US person owning the LLC and all its activity happens outside the US and you have no dependent agent in the US then it's classified by the IRS as non-ETBUS and is not liable for any tax in the US. But you can check with a tax advisor, not some dude on the internet.
