    Thoughts on Tax Residence

It does but how about remote work? Managing your own business abroad? Yes it's unlikely another country could make a claim in this case, but since technically UAE won't hand you a piece of paper saying you're tax resident there, you could still be in jeopardy if your citizenship is a Tier 2...

    Thoughts on Tax Residence

The way I see it, high tax countries (HT) treat tax residence like a metal scanner. They make you pass through the scanner, and flag you if they find evidence of connection to the country. They are divided in several tiers of increasing sensitivity. Tier 1: The presence test, usually 183 days...

Estonia company + Estonia bank account

With an Estonian company, how easy would it be to dodge the 20% tax on profit distribution by invoicing from another company located in a low tax jurisdiction? How easy would it be for an e-resident with no connections to Estonia to open a personal account at LHV? If he succeeds, would it be...

Personal and corporate bank accounts in Singapore

I think it was $300k because it was a USD account I was interested... but I am not 100% sure Yes, both OCBC and DBS.

    Interactive Broker as a end-stop?

As an alternative to parking at IB, how about purchasing a pool of stablecoins pegged to USD, such as Gemini Dollar? I know some of these, such as Tether, have had issues in the past, but the industry is evolving. This is not a suggestion, I don't know if I'd do it myself with $2M, but it's...

Personal and corporate bank accounts in Singapore

Been there, done that. Tried with OCBC and DBS for an offshore company. Both were keen on opening, requested docs and a personal visit. In the end I was rejected by DBS and accepted by OCBC. For a personal account, you need a $300k minimum balance.

new BVI company. How, in a nutshell?

I have both with and without. But the company with substance has had very little activity. I would disagree with Admin re. his judgement on BVI. The environment is getting harder everywhere, not just BVI, but if you manage to comply with the silliness, then BVI is better than Panama or Belize...

Best SETUP to cash out bitcoin (business)

That works, but your bank may still ask what is the source of the BTC's you cashed out.

    Asset protection - foreign judgment

Slowly buy modest amounts of Bitcoin in cash, through LocalBitcoins or other P2P site. Justify these purchases as miscellaneous expenses - fancy restaurants, trips, etc. Make it look like you're using cash for living your new normal life, not fleeing from potential lawsuits. Bitcoin is easier...

Best Spanish-speaking country to open a bank account

In Portugal, you may open a personal bank account at any bank but you must have a NIF number. As a foreigner non-resident, you may get a NIF quite easily, but you need a local representative to receive official letters from the government. If you don't have a resident friend to fill this role...

Best Spanish-speaking country to open a bank account

Banco Sabadell in Miami speaks Spanish and Portuguese, but balance requirement is $100k+ In LATAM, Panama it's possible to open if you have patience. Lots of forms to fill. Uruguay is also possible but becoming more stringent. I don't think you'll succeed in opening a business account for your...

Keeping old address on my bank accounts in my home country after moving offshore

For your home bank, you don't need to update the address. They won't ever ask you if you have moved, specially if you don't use the account often. And you not acting to request an update of your own records is not a crime, not even an infraction. If much, you could claim it was a distraction -...

    Heritage International bank

Given it's your money, I'd maybe check with a local lawyer if the bank has the right to refuse wiring your balance to another bank account under your own company name, for the sake of closing the Heritage account. Failing that, check if they'd give you an administrative cheque that your other...

Keeping old address on my bank accounts in my home country after moving offshore

If you care about your EU bank knowing where you live, it's probably because you care about your home country knowing where you live. Which means you don't plan to telling your home country where you have relocated to start with. Which brings me to the next question: why would you care about...

BVI, Seychelles, Belize company which one is easiest to get a bank account?

I recently opened an account for a BVI company at OCBC Singapore, as reported in another thread. Legit business, but no ties to Singapore and I made the minimum deposit ($30k). Ties with Singapore are desirable, not entirely mandatory. OCBC is a solid bank but a very poor choice for day to day...
