    2 passports & traveling

I agree some countries don't seem to have a problem. The UK being one and I even tried to explain the situation and was just waved through. I've done this multiple times over many years. Australia being another although it might have been because I hold an Australian passport. Again when I...

How to Travel Light for a Year-Long Journey Across Europe and Beyond?

For me it's about organisation, not space. I haven't used vacuum bags so can't compare. I use the OGIO Rig 9800 bag. Had it for 14 years and it used to be marketed as a motocross bag and now seems to be a travel bag. Only issue is the wheels broke and I replaced with scooter wheels. An...

How to Travel Light for a Year-Long Journey Across Europe and Beyond?

These are one of the best things you can have when travelling. I use a few more than you and separate out my clothes in each. I have the Eagle Creek brand, however, plenty of others around. Makes packing much easier.

How to Travel Light for a Year-Long Journey Across Europe and Beyond?

I've been travelling for around 15 years, except for a couple of extended periods (COVID being one of them), and I have a carry-on backpack and one checked-in bag. I could never do just a carry-on. I tend to stick to the warmer climates, which makes it easier for clothing. Travel usually by...

    Republic of Abkhazia

Add free wifi on the public transport too. Surprised me when I was there back in 2019. The actual vehicles were from many decades ago, however, more technology that many parts of the 'developed' world. Definitely worth a visit if you are remotely interested. I stayed in Chisinau, Moldova for a...

Can we talk solana ( SOL ) cryptocoin ?

It was also caught up in the FTX saga which may have exacerbated the drop late last year.

What are your sources when searching where to invest?

Oops, missed this earlier. I pay for end of day data which I import into Excel. Delivered by email each day as a csv file. I track around 90 US listed stocks based on criteria like market cap and volume and availability of LEAPS. Nothing too complicated. For futures I track the main ones and two...

What are your sources when searching where to invest?

It is identifying trends based on price and they happen over time. Find a trend, get in and wait until the trend moves against you and then get out. You lose a bit of profit at the beginning and end, however, you are also not trying to predict anything. It is not looking for market...

What are your sources when searching where to invest?

It's worked for me for the last decade. Seems to work for a few more well known people than me. Yes, I have over-simplified and much better for people to learn and understand the other parts themselves. Which is why I included a link to a good initial source. Suffice to say the focus should be...

What are your sources when searching where to invest?

If you're more of a trader rather than an investor, have a look at the trend following philosophy. You can ignore all the noise and focus on the price. Armed with OHLC prices and an optimised spreadsheet you can ignore all the numbers and charts the finance community uses to make their jobs look...

Diving Deep into OPSEC: Let's Guard Our Data

Michael Bazzell's books cover some of these topics in great detail. Sometimes even a bit too extreme for regular people. Some good nuggets I have been able to put into practice over the years.

Buying and owning a car in Europe as a non-European

Yes would prefer to keep things legal. Don't need to give insurers another reason to not pay if it ever comes to that. Have read the German market is the best for buying and so the export plates (accepting the higher insurance) and then deal with the importing later might be the best option...

Buying and owning a car in Europe as a non-European

I don't think either of us will convince the other. I'll admit I am in the minority because I would rather drive half a day on back roads and travel quarter of the distance, rather than a full day on a motorway. My older 911 Carrera has all the sound deadening and carpets removed and the other...

Buying and owning a car in Europe as a non-European

Perhaps classic car was the wrong term. I merely wanted to eliminate, upfront, leasing a new car through one of the numerous programs available or others like the Andorra option that only works for cars under 6 years old. I hadn't looked at the car club idea, so thank you, I will add it to the...

Buying and owning a car in Europe as a non-European

I would have thought tickets would be sent to the address for the company if that is the owner. How would other company owned vehicles for fully operational businesses deal with this situation? Perhaps I am mistaken. Having spent plenty of time in Australia, speeding infringements are nothing...

Buying and owning a car in Europe as a non-European

Thank you for the extra information. The zero reporting is definitely appealing, as is the zero tax. Perhaps I should have renewed the e-Residency rather than let it expire. It did seem more like a complete reapply rather than a renewal so no extra work to get it going again.

Caribbean island vs Monaco pro and cons for living

Having grown up on an island and spent more time on other islands, don't underestimate the reduced spontaneity to go somewhere else. Takes a bit more planning. You can't just jump in a car and go. Well perhaps a boat to another island. That said, 30 degrees and a beach is tough to beat. Monaco...

Buying and owning a car in Europe as a non-European

I figured it would probably be a technical inspection as part of the import/registration process for most of them and surprised that some might not require one. Just another thing to consider with buying an older car. With insurance I might have to look at something reasonably wide-ranging and...

Buying and owning a car in Europe as a non-European

The quick answer is everywhere. I have the luxury of being able to do this over a long period of time. Have spent time in about 20 countries so far and happy to go back and see more of each. Plus the others I haven't visited yet.
