Why you say "don't be in the same country"? Wouldn't that trigger other things about "company substance" and "place of effective management"?

As far as I know, this is true for products, not for services. For services, VAT is due in the place where the company is incorporated.

As far as I understand, what matters is not the country of the company but the country of the customer. So, even if it's a US LLC, if it's selling to EU clients, it will be reported.
