When you open a company you apply to the IRS for the EIN, within 2 weeks you receive it and then you can easily open a bank account.

It isn`t very common, as I think it might be illegal to advertise this as a US citizen. Also, those that do introduce USA banks as an offshore entity charge an arm and a leg.
