Often times it's through spyware or malware. The programs are secretly loaded on to a user's computer and keystrokes recorded and sent back to the bad guys. Sometimes it can also be done by a fake email (phising) and someone clicks the link thinking they are being taken to the real PayPal site...

Thanks for the information everyone. I hadn't realize the benefits of having multiple email accounts pointing to PayPay but after reading this, I quickly made some changes to my account.

There's too much negative stuff on the news so I'm going to make it a point this weekend to stay away from the television, radio and Internet so I can get away from all of the garbage. Too much news starts to really get depressing.

I really believe that Stormpay was as big of a problem as was 12DailyPro. When the news hit the Internet, it was amazing how many people had their money frozen by Stormpay. I wonder if events with Stormpay and 12DP are still playing out in court.

It's nice to hear that Paypal took a very proactive position on protecting your account. With more threats to customers nowadays, it seems that companies are being more vigilant in protecting their customers to ensure their customers stay with them.

Does anyone still use Stormpay? They were doing well until that big fiasco with 12DailyPro several years ago. I think Stormpay was involved with scamming people, too.

As a business owner, what is the best way to keep track of what taxes I may have to pay? Should I set up a system where I pay quarterly instead of waiting until the very end? I know taxes are a necessary evil, but I still hate them. :tinysmile_angry_t:

I have to commend you for your patience. Two years is a long time to wait, especially since most people want immediate gratification. I have heard that blogging can bring in money but I don't think I can be quite as patient.

I'm not sure that I agree that Western Union is the one to worry about. It's the scammers and con artists that ask you to wire money that I'd be worried about. I've used WU before with no problem.

Hope busybee's idea works for you pluma. If that's all they are asking for, then send in the required documents and then hope Paypal releases your account. Did you have much money in the account before this happened?

Exactly! These things aren't free and don't run on their own. Paypal has an overhead and has to pay for things ranging from staff to electricity. Just like any business they have a right to make money and if you don't like the fees, use someone else.

When I first set up my Paypal account, I didn't know any better and inadvertently set it up as a business account. When I noticed money being taken, I did some research and quickly changed it back to a personal account. Now I get to keep all of the money that comes into my account.

Even thought I am a citizen of the United States of America, I think the term seems very outdated. There are other world leaders who are just as interested in protecting the world from evil and keeping people free.
