Romania - Fiscal changes coming soon - Need Plan B

It's still alright in Romania. The taxes a bit higher, but it's still a good option to incorporate

Question Most/least aggressive tax offices in Europe?

Damn Damn, I've heard it is easy and painless, but I've also heard the horrors of Spanish beer bureaucracy. Good luck with it!

Question Most/least aggressive tax offices in Europe?

How did it go for you in the end? Did you buy the property? I'm currently thinking about a similar thing - rent and then buy an apartment in Spain, but stay there less than 6 months/year and have tax residency in Romania ( plus a company and another rental/bought property there ).

Romania - Fiscal changes coming soon - Need Plan B

Oh, very good news! Only 2% tax increase is perfectly fine. No need to panic and move to Cyprus yet xD

IT freelancer moving to Romania in 2023

Check the latest news. Romania has a high chance to lose the tax benefits by the end of this year. I'm already looking where to go next

Romania - Fiscal changes coming soon - Need Plan B

But you will eventually have to pay those 20% of Estonian tax? Plus anything that your current residency will require Although keeping the money in Estonia for years and reinvesting sounds tempting.

Romania - Fiscal changes coming soon - Need Plan B

Alright, so it seems that the solo trader option(PFA) is also getting knifed. The limit will be around 20k eur plus extra taxes. Dividend tax info is contradictory at the moment, but might get to 10% or stay at 8 for now. But it will be raised again, that's for sure. So, according to some...

Romania - Fiscal changes coming soon - Need Plan B

Any link to read(even in Romanian)? I just applied for tax residency last month. The changes in the first post look scary especially considering the deadline. Romania also has a solo trader option which is a bit more expensive than SRL micro company, but considering the changes it makes sense...

IT freelancer moving to Romania in 2023

You can use the office for 1y if the office is provided by your lawyer. In reality, they just move your office once a year to under a different company, in the same building ( so you don't have to do anything yourself). This is already my second year here :)

IT freelancer moving to Romania in 2023

I haven't tried. If I'll buy an apartment here, I'll def register it as my office to save a few hundred eur a year. You need a virtual office at least. Should cost around 200e yearly. I use one from Reinvent consulting. And I use R&R if I need some heavy lifting like getting CNP.

IT freelancer moving to Romania in 2023

I can recommend Romania and micro company. I moved here myself a while ago and it's pretty good so far. There are some language barriers and opening a company is more tricky than in more advanced places. But overall it might be the best tax jurisdiction under GDPR. You can check my post history...

Romania micro company not worth it anymore?

Oh, thank you. That's news to me. So it's another 1.5k (maximum) euros worth of yearly taxes. Still ok considering you can take enough dividends to last for a few years and then take minimum dividends ( less than 18k lei per year ) for the next few years. Once out of money repeat the process :)...

Romania micro company not worth it anymore?

Min salary is 3k RON of which you pay around 250e in taxes and social. The other 350e is your salary. Accountant around 80e if we include the extra fees for yearly/quarterly reports and salary service. Let's round to 100e. Virtual office 12-15e/month From 3k you pay 30e tax. So you pay around...

Bulgaria vs Romania for a freelancer

Sorry, only now saw the reply. 1) Open SRL micro company. I used Rolegal (first link in Google), but they ripped me off with their prices. Now I would recommend Reinvent consulting. They cost peanuts, but English service is mediocre. Remember that you also need to employ yourself to get 1% tax...

Setup for an US LLC + Romanian PFA

Bucharest for 2 months now So far so good: have an accountant, virtual office, etc. Although, Cluj also seems like a good option, but it seemed too small for my liking. If you're planning to set-up a company here, the initial spending can be from 500 to 3k depending on a law firm. But yeah, no...

Setup for an US LLC + Romanian PFA

Thanks for the link. I agree on most things, but hiring yourself costs around 250e in taxes, contributions and insurance, which is not that much for IT freelancer. Consulting things is a dangerous issue though. But I have Software development as the main company activity and word my invoices...

Setup for an US LLC + Romanian PFA

As somebody who just moved to Romania from Finland for tax reasons, I'd say just have a micro company in Romania and pay the taxes. It's the best deal in Europe for a IT freelancer: 1% revenue tax, 250e social security contributions from salary and 8% dividend tax. So around 11-12% vs 40-50% I...
