What happened to JohnnyDoe?

You can read about it here. In short, we finally found his identity. Seems he is very close to God and now had to go to Rome where he is on the short list of becoming the next Pope.

Maybe he won't get elected and will be back. Maybe not. Please don't promote speculations and rumors here. There are weekly meetings in your local church where deeper connections with JohnnyDoe can be found.

I always appreciated reading JohnnyDoe's posts. Yes, at times he may have pushed boundaries or walked a fine line, but he also shared a lot of practical, valuable insights ”” some of which I've personally applied with success.

Of course, rules are rules, and the reasons for his ban are clear. It seems to me that he went through what you might call the "brass pipes" ”” a kind of ego test that many go through after success. I do believe he understood the consequences of his actions and learned a lesson from the experience.

Just to be clear: I'm not affiliated with him in any way, just speaking from my own perspective as a fellow community member. I genuinely think that people like him ”” with strong opinions, practical knowledge, and a bit of edge ”” can bring real value to this forum, as long as it's within the framework of mutual respect.

I feel the same way, many of his posts were genuinely interesting, and there was definitely something to learn from him. That said, his aggression really showed whenever the topic shifted to banks or any crypto that wasn't BTC.

Still, no doubt he'll be missed. But if history is any guide, I wouldn't be surprised if a version 2.0 shows up, someone with a similar tone and agenda, like we've seen before with permanently banned users. I think it's only a matter of time.

Check the blue words in my post above. It is this one:

Anyway, I liked his posts. They were always funny and I appreciated reading them. I never understood why he had such negative feelings about me and a few others.

JohnnyDoe, I am pretty sure, you will be Pope within days and we will always turn on the TV to see how you are doing!

Ah, he was an asset to the forum, in my opinion, as he posted lots of views on all matters that brought about interesting debate.

It's absolutely true that he once brought value to the forum and to the many users who became his clients through OCT. Unfortunately, he repaid that by actively discouraging users from returning to OCT, inventing stories including a completely fabricated claim that he was to testify in a lawsuit that exists only in his imagination, and advising people not to purchase Mentor Group Gold. Overall, his focus shifted from contributing to deliberately undermining the forum.

The only reason he engaged in the now widely discussed thread was because it threatened his own business interests, and he felt the need to reassert that his word was law.

For the record, he pressured us to ban several users, threatening that failing to do so would “damage” OCT. He even went as far as pushing advertisers to leave the platform because OCT admins wouldn't comply with his demands.

Let's be honest, what do you believe in? Fairy tales? Santa Claus? He's doing exactly what he falsely accuses OCT of doing.

At OCT, we focus on keeping the forum clean, protecting freedom of speech, and staying far away from mafia tactics, blackmail, and attempts to destroy 15 years of dedicated work.

Yup he played silly games just like Yevgeny Prigozhin and got cancelled from the forum.

A few years back, the guy tried to sell me a fake passport, only to later push his “real” (fake or stolen, who knows?) version for $8”“10K. It was clearly a setup.

If he blackmailed OCT, then he doesn't deserve to come back, no matter how much valuable knowledge he had. Sure, we might lose some insights, but just like Jafo was replaced by @daniels27 , and @Martin Everson was complemented by Johnny, I'm sure someone else will step in to fill the gap Johnny left behind. @gh0p replaced @mraleph and I can continue.

OCT has been around long enough, we've seen a lot over the years. This is not the end.

Thanks for the info, my only dealings were on the public forum so I wasn't really aware of anything behind the scenes.

Just a general note: Bans are never issued without reason. Users are always given multiple warnings and chances to adjust their behavior. OCT supports free speech, but posts must follow the forum guidelines.

Not being personal at all, on very broad, abstract terms:
If somebody buys a lifetime membership and gets kicked out, I think the other users deserve to know EXACTLY what for the contract was terminated.
That would be better for the admins too..
The other party does not have a voice any more, so technically the admins can talk whatever....
Why delete posts? Threads can be closed and the posts in question serve as proof and example for others. Plus, I think it also deserves to point out which rules exactly were violated.

Very interesting. He was always with very strong opinion about everything.
I am just curious what red lines he crossed to be kicked out of forum. But not surprised at the same time.
Did he really threatened forum with legal actions?

It should be clear to everyone that breaking the forum rules can get you removed, even if you hold a lifetime membership as I do. I certainly understand that.

Starting drama with moderators and calling them names, as described above, is definitely not the way to earn respect, it's more like a guaranteed way to get banned.

Many posts get removed because they can harm the integrity of a thread or the original poster, and that's simply not fair.

From what I can tell, JD effectively asked to be shown the door, and rightfully so.

If the messages would have been left there, everybody could see it for themselves. Now it is just words.

One might think that this is the owners/admins playground and they have the right to do what they want. Sure. Until they take a payment - then it is a contract.
The rules here are vague. Can you show me which one was broken?
