    GrapheneOS

I have zero banking apps installed. For most banks I have a hardware device (tell them you don't own a smartphone). For those that don't provide one I have an app on my phone which helps me authenticate (a second factor) when I login to the website on a PC. I refuse to install the actual...

Don't use online banking on a phone. Giant security threat.

    still found crypto your assessment

Then you have extremely obvious on-chain proof as the coins haven't moved in 11 years right? As long as in Austria you don't have to provide the tax authority with an overview of all your assets (like in some countries) you are in full compliance.

Seeking opinions / Reduce 500 ke inheritance tax

So Switzerland. From mother to son most cantons don't levy an inheritance tax. 2 cantons even have no inheritance tax at all for anyone regardless of relation.

Seeking opinions / Reduce 500 ke inheritance tax

Wasn't the situation there that the one leaving the inheritance did so while being a French tax resident? Seems to be that for Swiss inheritance tax the tax residency of the one leaving the inheritance is the determining factor.

    Clarification on CRS Reporting Thresholds

Very strange. So they are making the rules more lax? (as there was no threshold before right?)

It is now legal to confiscate your assets in the west - movie

Sure but that change of meaning was natural and not purposeful, manipulative and malign like the examples I gave.

Nah, they'll just redefine happy just as they did with "inflation", "liberal", "free", "justice", "vaccine", "science" etc etc etc

    OnlyFans Banking EU - $300k+ a month

Big consumer banks certainly aren't real private companies as legislation forces many to use them for many purposes. Eg. in many countries companies are banned from paying out salaries in cash, they have to pay with bank transfers. Therefore these banks are at least semi-governmental.

    Thailand/countries to live off crypto

And you dare trust others with those words? Yes your multi-sig solution is a problem too as you lock yourself out without the cooperation of another. That requires trust, and when trust isn't required it's always a mistake.

    Thailand/countries to live off crypto

Very interesting. I wonder if that precedent would hold in a tax case (at least your experience shows some consistency in criminal cases) and how/if other countries have and will rule on this. Thanks for sharing.

    Thailand/countries to live off crypto

Because people are stupid? Just saying I read about cases, not that I did it. The second? Because then you need to trust someone which is not needed if you hold it yourself. Quite an obvious drawback. Up to you if you believe that's acceptable.

    Thailand/countries to live off crypto

Nothing conclusive. Hence why I asked here when I saw a clear standpoint being taken. For me the interest is merely academic in nature btw so I've obviously not paid for legal opinions nor do I have a legal background myself. It's interesting to see how antiquated legal notions are dealt with...

    Thailand/countries to live off crypto

I certainly agree with you but a bank account is clearly different as the money is defined to be in the institution the bank is operating out of. The Blockchain however is everywhere and nowhere at the same time. The only thing that has a physical location are the private keys and they likely...

    Thailand/countries to live off crypto

Really? I read this risk exists in eg Ireland too (considering cryptos to be situated within Ireland if owned by a tax resident). Has this conclusively been defeated in court?
