@JohnnyDoe Can you provide some examples of the companies offering those bonds? What banks offer this service? Thanks

Common Reporting Standard / Revolut CRS

Correct. There are multiple countries in the EU where you do not have to declare your bank accounts to the tax office. But that does not mean much, as they will have that information anyway. What is CRS for otherwise? Free circulation of capital within the EU gives you the right, at least...

Interest tax withheld in Wise account

Hi all, I have some money in USD in a Wise account. It pays monthly interest (called "cashback" by Wise) but they withhold 30% in tax for the Belgian state. I am NOT a tax resident in Belgium and Wise knows it. 1. Is there a way to avoid the withholding? 2. If not, how and when can I claim that...

    Turkey sovereign bonds

Well I'm looking into stg like the 6 month (to limit the fx exposure in time) that is currently yielding 45% circa. Even if the TRY falls say 30% vs the USD in the next 6 months, a bad scenario, you would still be around break-even. If it remains stable, yield could be 45% or even more if...

EU bank account for UAE company

Thanks all very much Ideally it would be something like Wise, with a SEPA account in EUR and also support for other currencies (at least USD is necessary, other currencies are nice-to-have). Being based in Europe is secondary, unless there are disadvantages, higher fees, etc., associated with...

EU bank account for UAE company

Hi all, I am looking for options to open a bank account in the EU for a company based in a free zone in UAE. I understand Wise does not do this. Any recommendations? Thank you

Withholding tax on dividends in Romania

VAT will be paid by the company's clients or will be 0 if the clients are outside the EU That makes it unattractive. You have to hire employees and rent office space but cannot deduct those as expenses??

Withholding tax on dividends in Romania

@Marzio How do you come up with the 8%? I understand it would be 6%: - 1% corporate tax in Romania (in the best scenario, if the company qualifies as a micro company) plus then the - 5% dividend tax in Greece when disbursing. Last edited: Apr 30, 2024

Withholding tax on dividends in Romania

How about setting up a company in another EU country that owns the Romanian company so that the Parent-Subsidiary Directive can be applied. This would prevent the WHT tax in Romania, correct?
