Thailand new change - world wide income at Thai tax levels to be taxed

Any views on the likelihood of Thailand actually going ahead with the announced plan to not only tax remitted, but global income regardless of remittance?

Thailand new change - world wide income at Thai tax levels to be taxed

    Highly unlikely, though currently unclear

Good plan. Where do you get the lombard loan from? MM2H is very expensive, forces you to buy real estate and takes a very long-time to get (currently I think a year if I remember correctly). Its current target market is really mostly Chinese and some other Asian escapees now, but not Westerners...

Are capital gains on financial investments reported under CRS (Common Reporting Standard for international exchange of tax information) or is it only dividends, interest? Thanks.

Perpetual travelers: renting an apartment for address proof in tax-friendly jurisdictions?

Question to Perpetual Travellers renting a more or less "throw away apartment" in a tax-friendly jurisdiction without living much there to create some evidence of an address and have somewhere where their CRS data can be reported to because Western banks generally do not like people living...

THAILAND AND REMITTED INCOME (since last official new rules).

Probably the difference between when you are in Thailand taxable at all (180 days) and how, if there is taxability, this is then potentially allocated between countries (DTA). But if not 180 days, then no DTA anyway

THAILAND AND REMITTED INCOME (since last official new rules).

Malaysia has a remittance taxation for foreign income which until 2026 for certain income is not yet activated. How it will be afterwards is unclear. In the announcement on the terms of the new MM2H there is some wording which seems to indicate that at least money for your mandatory deposit can...

Legal Residence vs Tax Residence for a bank

Why Australia? Would it not be best to use a country with territorial taxation because there the tax authorities should be least likely to care about CRS reports of somebody allegedly living in their country and holding millions abroad as this is not taxable, so pursuing any inconsistencies...

Great interview regarding the DTV with somebody from the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Thailand's soon to launch Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)

The "world income taxation" is way more likely than you make it as the Thai government desperately needs funding to implement its election promises. So the only thing that will stop this is successful lobbying of rich Thais against it

How to become tax resident in Thailand? (I got rejected)

Not entirely true regarding Taiwan, only the first approximately 200k USD are tax free

Thailand new change - world wide income at Thai tax levels to be taxed

Thai tax rates can be quite high for various income types, so depending on where you are already taxed this would only be partial relief. Moreover, it depends on the specific wording of the double taxation agreement in question and you might not necessarily be able to meet the documentary...

Thailand new change - world wide income at Thai tax levels to be taxed

LTR visa tax exemption is on remitted foreign, not Thai income

Thank you for this. Yes, having now had a chance to look at it, the full text sounds even more promising: KELEBIHAN PROGRAM Pengecualian cukai ke atas pendapatanpesisiran (offshore income) dan dana yangdibawa masuk seperti FD. which translates to something like: ADVANTAGES OF THE PROGRAM Tax...
