UK ltd bank business account

We have tried unsuccessfully to open a uk ban account at a high street bank, although we have a legit business, if the director and shareholders are not UK resident its almost impossible.

This would mean we have to have a UK resident proof and a real address that forwards the mails. Any solutions or suggestions.

A worst case scenario is renting a small flat there and get a utility bill. As a EU resident I dont a visa or anything.

That would be the best option. I know there are a lot of Virtual Office services and also Office space services in the UK. You may consult some of them to get something cheap.

Have you been visiting the banks or did you ask someone to go there for you?

I have been visiting only HSBC in person, other banks I haven't visited as they all require a local director.

Can't you arrange something with a London Lawyer or something that will take you by hand and visit the banks? I have done that for some years ago and we had success with Barclays.

Where are you from? In fact why do you need a UK account? UK companies function perfectly fine with a non-UK account.

Germany. We can work perfectly with a non UK bank account, but its impossible to register a UK paypal account (for our UK Ltd company) without a sort code. Currently paypal requires to exchange GBP to EUR. After receiving EUR we have to exchange back to GBP to pay UK VAT or pay suppliers in other currencies. GBPEURGBP Total exchange fees are around 6%, on a few million these are significant fees.

@auric thks, I will search this option and see if there is any lawyer or agent that can help. If you have any recommendations would be great to PM me.

Just open a business account with Transferwise or Revolut. They will give you a GBP business account and UK sort code no problem.
