Whilst I'm eligible for the job, and quite fluent in Latin, I'm currently not interested as too busy. So I wonder who is your favorite and why. It's a good test of the prediction skills of the OCT users, too often wasted on mundane matters.
I think that Matteo Zuppi has good chances.

Following the new global trend imposed in action, in my opinion a Ratzinger-style pope will win (right/republican/super theological/extreme pro-family anti-woke).

The trends indicate that the usual leftish should win (who follow Francis' line).
But the pressure from the center of the empire (US) is not taken into account.

So I vote for Robert Sarah, Péter Erdő and those players there.

108 out of 135 cardinals were created by Bergoglio (22 by Ratzinger and 5 by Wojtyla). So the balance of power is in that direction.

it's almost as important as who will be the next leader of Pastafarians

This is true. Also already reflected in the polls.
But let's remember: Benedict (Ratzinger) himself was elected by a majority of John Paul II cardinals (the two were objectively different).
Yes, I'm climbing up the mirrors a bit just because I like to go against the trend. We'll see.

Ratzinger was Wojtyla's best buddy and his inevitable successor. A great (evil) mind with not enough physical strength left at his age.
A real Pope is expected to act as such, not as a priest like Francis did.

Not really.
The Pope is one of the few figures with truly global media influence, a power that can be leveraged for political impact. Don't forget he can influence hundreds of millions of faithful followers.

in general you're right but in this regard it feels pretty unimportant which of these clowns will be elected... they play their own game and cannot care less about their sheep

anyways, two posts are way more than this laughable ridiculous relict of the past deserves

I'd vote for you for sure

yeah a real pope is expected to act as a pope when the camera is on, then when it's off is another thing...
(same for priests... I have tons of evidence 😉 )

I agree with this assessment, even tho most of the cardinals have been elected by the previous Pope. The waters have shifted. I hope the Church will follow.

It will be easier to be a proud Catholic again with Sarah or Erdo than with some new Marxist.

There is a good book written by a former minister of interior affairs of Slovakia about how Marxists took over Europe, and about the ongoing civil war within the Catholic Church.
It was translated into german "Die Löwen kommen: Warum Europa und Amerika auf eine neue Tyrannei zusteuern". Benedict XVI praised the book. In a personal letter to the author, Pope said, "The power of the Antichrist is increasing." The book somehow ended up in the hands of Peter Thiel, who liked the ideas in the book and visited the author a few months ago.

Not that I think it will happen, but it should be as conservative a Pope as you'd expect a Muslim Imam to be. I'm not religious but it is clear the sheep need a strong religion to guide them, otherwise they worship the woke rainbow and the Covid state.
