Armenia remote citizenship in 3 years?

Hello,

It seems interesting, but there's not much info I can find online and the citizenship promises are always fuzzy.
Does anyone have any experience or more information about this residency program and, more importantly, if it can really lead to citizenship with minimal presence in the country?

Seems unlikely, but not impossible 😉

It is pretty much the same rule as in any EU country. None of them have any days requirements. But they will check and see whether you even know anything about the country. If you do not know the local language, it will be difficult.

Unless you have some personal ties or interst in the country, it is a waste of time. Better do the same show in Italy or Belgium, Malta, etc. where you know the language at least, it will be faster and easier for you.

@cer955 if you are from EU and broke (or very rich), you can do the same in Italy and get the passport in 4 years.

Sure, I'm not saying it's easy, but for the purpose of getting a new, free passport it would be worthy to learn. I'm more concerned about the "minimum stay" in the country - in this article says there's technically no minimum stay, but it doesn't mean they don't actually check. A lot of countries don't have a fixed minimum stay but you won't get citizenship without living there (ex. Panama, afaik)

They don't officially check minimum stay, but I guess you need to be tax resident there, pay taxes, etc, to create ties with the country?

Anyone remember the Armenia - Azerbaijan conflict in 2020? And the history of border skirmishes that continue. If your under 27 think wisely about whether you want to end up doing military service over there just for a passport. If your neighboring Iranian looking for another passport then it may make sense.

Armenia does not check a physical presence. They check a residence permit time of existence.
Armenia want ti see that you have a reasonable economic activity. Yo have to pay taxes in Armenia for at least 3 years.
Person who apply for armenian citizenship based on residency has to pass exam from the armenian constitutional system. Exam is in armenian language. Person has also pass a test of writing skills in armenian language by filling a biographic form and CV.
Armenia has obligatory conscription.
Are you willing to serve in the army in a country which is too offen in a war or in a risk of war?

Thats not how wars work.

In case of an all out war they close borders and draft wave by wave. When they run out of young ones, they'll increase draft age until nobody left or the war ends

If you can't understand and write Armenian, you can forget about getting a passport after four years. On the other hand, I would assume that Armenia, like most countries of that type, has a high level of corruption, so chances are, you could simply pay to receive a passing test result without knowing a single word of Armenian.

If one is committed (but I don't see any reason in the world for that) it's possible to learn a new language in a few months. 4 years is plenty of time to achieve good conversational level if your iq is higher than a monkey's.

Impossible. This is the usual lie told by scammers who sell residence permits or fake passports.
