Freezing happens the same way it happens with banks: you just need one vicious monkey to pull the trigger.

Exactly, but at least Circle waits for a court order to do so. Tether doesn't do this, it has been discussed thousands of times on crypto twitter.

Not something to be relied upon anyway.
Also don't forget the “burn” function. (I wonder if when triggered they also burn the corresponding USD fiat amount they supposedly hold rof/% )
