I have a Dubai freezone company that is pretty much dormant and I see no point in just paying fees, renewals, etc... so I think the best option for me would be to just close it down. Has anyone gone through the process of closing down their freezone company? I would like to hear from members here who have already done this and know how to process works and what I should look out for.

Just contact your FZ, and they will explain everything.

The process is straightforward, but you will need to pay some fees to close it down.

How much are you paying annually to maintain your company?

Many people opened companies in Dubai thinking it would solve all their problems, and now they're closing them down.

Why do people mention UAE as being a good offshore solution when supposedly they do as much reporting as any G7 or EU country?

For us it was very easy, you probably have an agency that helps you? we just told them and they did everything, just the usual papers to sign, and a steep fee (2k USD if I remember correctly)

pretty easy, but also pretty costly. You need a nice auditor for the closing report.

It was quite easy for me when I did with my FCC FZE license. But then I had not even opened an account or anything - so I made a deal with my agent that they take deposit back from the FZE and I add what is remaining, so total costed me about 3000 AED extra. Total fee was about 7000 or 8000 AED. But I got my all-clear certificate in like a week after I told them to close it.

Can't you use the company for anything else?
