Hi, yes, another guy trying to create a meme coin and looking for advice and help. Guilty.

Not really trying to scam people or get rich (is that a good or a bad thing?), just learn and have fun along the way.

So, what technology should I use? I already discarded Ethereum (too high gas fees) so I doubt whether to use BSC or SOL. Any big pros/cons for one or the other?

Legal implications? I mean, it is a meme coin and will say that on the website but could there be any legal problem? Will you recommend creating a cheap company somewhere to limit personal responsibility?

Also, anonymity is important to me. Is there any way to link a coin with its creator? I guess the domain will be linked to me, could that be avoided by creating the company and buying the domain through it?

well how can one create a memecoin (which is useless garbashe) and not scam the noobs buying into?

There will be a lot of ways to link you when you try to cash out the gains.

Well, it won't be totally useless as you could spend the coins in some ways, like praying Cthulhu to not devour your soul. Not very different to pay some money to light a candle in a church. Although we can discuss that religions are the biggest scammers of all time 😉

Cash-out the gains? Unless you are secretly Elon Musk and plan to tweet about my coin, I think you are giving me way too much credit XD

I refuse to believe that all the so-called "shitcoins" we come across today are just scams. I think it's more likely that some of them are created by ambitious innovators with a good idea that simply doesn't work out in reality. Of course, this can lead to significant losses for investors, which is another matter entirely.

And that said, there are, of course, scams among the many new projects that emerge, but that's something we find in every industry.

So maybe we should be more discerning about when we label something as a scam and when it's simply or was a bad idea?

How about to discuss how to setup such a business is asking for? I would like to know that too.

whos we? You can believe what you want and im not the moral police either.
The answer is: dont do it. Its not worth pursuing any more and better to engage in a new field of new technology than this field which has been tried for at least 10y by now (over 2.4M tokens). And the chips have slowly fallen. Its bitcoin and ethereum as its looks like.

Hmm, that's quite a narrow view, and I don't agree with it. It would be absurd to believe that only Bitcoin and Ethereum are reliable for the future. Blockchain technology is evolving at an incredible pace, and we've only seen a tiny fraction of what's to come, including new coins and projects.

That said, we're now shifting the discussion to whether or not shitcoins are scams. The original question was about how to do it [presumably investing or identifying opportunities], right? I'm pretty sure all our posts will either be deleted or moved once this gets noticed. So maybe we should steer back to the actual topic.

I totally agree with you, @JohnnyDoe, and I see you're far from alone in your opinion. I watched a great documentary yesterday featuring a German economist, and I was convinced it was you being interviewed!

He said exactly what you've been preaching to us for years on OCT. Bitcoin isn't an investment but a resource that's becoming increasingly scarce, and everyone should secure a share of it while they still can. Bitcoin is the only real store of value we have today. USD and EUR are worthless, and so on.

It could only have been you speaking there! You've mentioned living in the Bahamas, but perhaps you made a quick stop at the German stock exchange two days ago - haha.

You don't need blockchain technology for what most of these shitcoins are achieving. It sounds good on paper, but you really don't need it in most cases.

And when I'm talking about shitcoins, I'm not only talking about what you see on dexscreener (which doesn't achieve a single thing anyways), I'm talking about coins like Solana, Tron, Cardano.
I mean, look at Tron for example, the general public doesn't understand how deeply centralized it is, that's why they just talk about how fast it is and how much money is being transferred on that specific chain.
You can do the exact same thing without blockchain technology...

All my friends who have been in crypto for the last 10+ years tend to all agree with this.

Shitcoins are a tool to accumulate more btc.

Spoiler alert. Theres nothing else coming. Its closing in on the 20y mark soon.
Again, I have to emphasize today being 2024 and not 2015.

How would you describe a coin that has:

1. Unlimited supply
2. Private airdrops
3. Unknown devs
4. Multiple rug pulls
5. Hidden fees
6. Centralized governance
7. Ridiculously complex whitepaper

It's called the USD

Just a message to the mods of this forum. Next time please ban kids like this one coming here asking basically how to get away by scamming people.

It's unbelievable what I'm reading here

You mean BTC and all coins will vanish soon, there will be no Bitcoin on the 20y mark ?

no Bitcoin stays, Ethereum most likely too.
The rest is garbashe, and what should come new after the 20y mark?
Blockchain aka the tech has already delivered its groundbreaking success which is Bitcoin, an unconfiscatble, censorship resistant store of value.

why would you link a meme coin (unregisted security) to a company linked to you ?

The pros vs cons are crazy.

Cons: Get charged by regulator for unlicensed broker/dealer, selling unregistered securities, and god knows what else they can slap you with. Expose your identity to a bunch of strangers (crypto people get kidnapped daily)

Pro: People will trust you a little bit more ?
