Having an EU passport and living in the EU with the ability to obtain a second Georgian passport””what tax planning advantages could it bring, if any?
That makes perfect sense. Thank you.JohnnyDoe said:
Zero. Citizenship has nothing to do with taxes (at least for now). But it won't hurt, so take it.

You must refuse from any passports before getting Georgian passport as far as I know? Exceptions: who invested a lot of money in the country and if citizenship was granted for "exceptional merit".Zyncol said:

Yes, correct. Georgia does not allow dual citizenship upon naturalisation.Alenka said:

This doesn't mean that you have to renounce your citizenship, only that they don't recognize it.daniels27 said:

So you mean it is well possible to keep your current passport while you get a new one from Gerogia?JohnnyDoe said:

If Georgia becomes aware that a Georgian citizen has obtained another citizenship, it could strip him of Georgian citizenship. But they can't check if one has renounced other citizenships or force one to become stateless while waiting for his Georgian citizenship.myshufflemix said:

Yes, so what you can do is getting a Georgian one while renouncing your current citizenship. You can then apply for your previous one again right away, depending on your citizenship. There are quite some countries (notably UK) having procedures for exactly for this case. But please note that you would have to request retention of Georgiran citizenship:JohnnyDoe said:
