Hey guys,

For all the day traders out here, what kind of tools do you use for your stock market predictions? Do you use Bloomberg Terminal, or something similar like Reuters or AlphaSense?

Any lesser-known insights or favorite strategies you'd be willing to share?

Also, do you rely on AI-driven platforms or stick to old-school technical analysis?

Liquidity and internally built system (terminal), but don't day trade - macro - opted for non Bloomberg due to a few reasons not least that it's like a goldfish bowl.

Never really understood why people want to day trade with the risk/reward ratio being so low and basing it on TA etc without a understanding of the macro underpinning it - plus all the taxable events it causes

Better to understand the bigger picture take positions and sit back for years, taking out and rolling 95% back in and living off the 5% for another 3-4 yrs

Honestly I just look at the chart and wait for price to tell me where is gonna go.

Dont try to predict the market, just react to it.

Was going to edit that, but can't.

System we use internally (one we built in-house) tracks just about everything from multiple avenues (lot also not shown such as portfolio, social media integration/observation/tracking etc), also have about 1400 dynamic charts tracking multiple avenues such as derived YCC that is ongoing (i.e yield not inverted), then our own charting system (newish as Tradingview/charting lib wasn't great).

We used Bloomberg but ended up building internally after trialing many finding that it just wasn't a good fit unless day trading in a fund (tradfi).

Your self made terminal is really well done

How complex is macro investing?

I only trade based on these principles ( astrology ) :
  • A company has its own natal chart for when it was incorporated, while a stock has its own natal chart to the date it first traded on its home stock exchange. From the astrological point of view, it makes sense that the underlying company might have had great success which is correlated in its chart, but because the stock for the company has a different inception date, the transits and potential affecting the stock are completely different.
  • Sentiment for a stock is reflected extremely well by the expressiveness of astrology. In a stock chart the Moon can reflect public sentiment; the Sun the identity, success, and awareness of the stock; Mercury communications and news about the stock; Venus valuation and appreciation; Mars aggression; Jupiter provides exuberance (and sometimes profit taking), Saturn fear and restriction, Uranus sudden excitement or discovery, Neptune delusion and manipulation, Pluto complete destruction or recreation, and any number of asteroids you'd like to add.
  • The general transits in the sky represent a very good picture of overall market sentiment. In my experience, the transits in the sky are what the world is "thinking"; I've posted [previous analysis] of why the "dead cat" bounce last week was perfectly supported by positive and bullish planets. Even though all of us might be well aware of what is coming, that reality hasn't yet surfaced into the public sentiment and the market has not yet played out that correlation.

How successful has it been so far? Would you recommend it? Have you tried human design as well?
