RON IBAN

Where can I open/obtain an IBAN account in RON (Romanian leu) for a US LLC or UK LTD company, with the exception Romanian Brick-and-mortar banks?

I am a resident in Romania, I have clients who are natural persons from Romania, I absolutely need RON IBAN, I would not go so far as to open an account in a physical bank in order not to get US LLC as a resident in Romania (EU) and I would still prefer an EMI.

Any opinions?

Wise and Revolut can provide local RON account details, but I'm not sure if they can do it for US and UK companies specifically.

Romania is a small market. There's hardly any demand for RON to begin with. You can hold RON with some EMIs (such as Zen and iCard), but provision of local accounts is a rarity.

What you say, Wise don't accept UK LTD's for account opening any longer ja334¤¤# what then with my current company and wise?

RON is pretty difficult to get for non-local companies, especially if you want to avoid local banks. As Sols said - Revolut (which would not be a bank for the UK company) provides local RON IBANs with Libra (Internet) Bank, and they would accept the UK Ltd.

If you only need processing, maybe try SmartFintech (Romanian PI, where the customers can make instant bank payments). There are only 2 EMIs in Romania, and both of them provide services only to individuals. Most EMIs do not focus on RON because it is not a currency in much demand, and you are right in the fact that Wise has limited registrations and does not accept EU and UK companies at the moment.

In addition, try to check Interpolitan Money. They provide really a lot of local IBANs, it is their characterstics, maybe RON too...
