Romanian passport, have Romanian heritage, any chance?

Hi ,
was wondering if anyone has any experience in obtaining a Romanian passport for Romanian decedents?

he was born there at 1923.
My grandfather escaped Romania (WWII) circa 1948.



not sure what other information is important here,

Have you tried contacting the Romanian embassy for guidance? That's probably where I would start!

No experience other than a couple of stories I've heard about the process taking years upon years to complete (if it ever does). They don't seem to like to issue passports unless you have ties to Romania or plan to move to Romania. They appear to be worried about handing out passports left and right to people that don't end up bringing value to Romania.

Depending on your starting point, it may or may not be worth it.
