I'm looking for the fastest residency options in modern and developed countries around the world.
I'm not interested in the UAE, Thailand or Cyprus.

yep
through savings it's pretty fast and straightforward
there are also other options like Special Residency in Mexico- NO INCOME NEEDED - Mexico Relocation Guide (this lasts from covid times, rules change all the time)
it's still lots of hassle (paperwork, personal visits, ...) but in general this is one of the easy options
if you're willing to risk for some reason there are also shortcuts used by many - depends on your appetite

I know people that did it by the book under 2 months (used the right embassy, lucky enough to get the appointment date at the immigration office)
I guess under 4 months for anybody
hundreds of "immigration specialists" available who can help with the paperwork, know the right people to speed it up and also just "make it happen" as a turn key service

Do you recommend a specific service?

Your thread starts with a very broad question, and it's quite difficult to answer it with any precision. But now, I'll try to guide you in the right direction.
First, you should ask yourself:
  • What standard of living do you expect?
  • How much do you earn per year?
  • Are you single or do you have a family?
  • What kind of infrastructure do you expect?
  • Are living costs a concern for you?
My list is too long, but hopefully, it makes sense and gives you something to think about. You can find other threads where you can get more inspiration for your considerations, and then you can open a new thread or add to this one.
Based on your pre-selected list, I would suggest considering Switzerland, Malta, or Mexico.

If money is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability!
My personal favorite thread posted in the Mentor Group. Group of investment companies to avoid licensing.

What's your passport? How old are you?

Georgia could be an option

@EliasIT Hit the nail on the head. If your from Cuba then anything is gonna look modern...lol.

Barbados offers 12 month remote worker residency in 7 days. You pay $2k and self certify you make over $50k a year. You then pay no taxes while resident and working.

I've been to Georgia. I wouldn't say it's developed. Tbilisi looks as if it was in a war.

Its indeed subjective. There are 66 developed countries, according to Wikipedia. Very popular Thailand is on last place, Georgia still fits in 🙂
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devel...roadly comprise,as Australia and New Zealand.
These days you can get residence quickly in any country.
Normally, all you have to do is get employed locally, which can be easily arranged.

It was. Russia flattened it back in 2008. It has spent last decade rebuilding itself and will likely be flatten again by Russia soon due to agitation over Russian breakaway enclaves and courting NATO. I sold my property there and terminated my residency by investment.
