Opening a US personal bank account remotely with ITIN?

If I have Russian residency, will old-style US banks open a business account for my US LLC if I would visit them personally?
In case of EMI, that's almost impossible.

@TheCryptoAnt Would they also require a US address?

Could I simply use my friend's address or would they want to see proof address, i.e. a utility bill with that address and my name on it?

It is more like a hit and miss. The bankers normally have some flexibility to decide. I would recommend coming with an address proof (either a foreign bank statement with a real/faked US address or a mobile phone bill with your address or something else, anything usually helps).

Following is my case:
- I don't have a US ITIN (but consider to apply for it, and wait 2-3 months, I read reports it can also take up to 6 months)
- I have proof of address in the UK (bank statements, utility bills etc. you name it)

With the hit and miss approach do I have chances with the above to get into the US banking system?

If not, I would apply for US ITIN and get a mobile phone contract on my friend's address in the US and use the mobile phone bill as my proof of address.

It depends how you value your flight and hotel expenses in the US. If you are there anyway, they you just try. If you are bothered by those expenses, you may want to wait for an ITIN and then apply remotely with a bank. You can also go without anything, just don't be angry if you need to try with 5 branches in different cities until they take you. It is all possible just not at all branches.

Alternative is to contact your local bank and ask them to help you with the account opening in a US bank. Depending on your own bank and it's size that is possible, we have done that before.

I have the business running for 2 years and ITIN.
What banks would you recommend to apply remotely?

And why would one want a personal US bank account? Assuming one spends no time in the US, the one thing I can see are the rewards on US credit cards which are better than elsewhere. Anything else? Im not sure if it's worth all the hassle for better credit card rewards.

Based on my experience, it is indeed possible to open a personal bank account remotely with brick-and-mortar banks in the US as a non-resident. I'm not referring to major banks like BoA or Chase, but rather to smaller, physical banks such as Banesco US or Ocean Bank. Even though I had an ITIN, I was not required to provide it. I had to pay an introducer $3,000, but I can definitely say that the process was quite smooth. Yes, I could have bought a plane ticket for that amount of money, but that would have required me to spend time flying to the US, dealing with the bank's paperwork, and managing the time zone difference. This way, I spent roughly the same amount of money but saved a lot of time. I know that the introducer I've relied on can open business bank accounts as well, but the company should trade in the US and have some evidence of its US operational activities.

Are you able to intro me to your introducer (this would be for personal account, I do not own any business in the US)
