Milan is expensive. If you live in Italy and work remote, there are better and much cheaper choices than Milan with a high quality of life. Unless you really are a big city person.

I know that there are cheaper choices but they are usually small cities. In Poland one can also live even more cheaply in small cities as well.

I guess that what I'm trying to say is that the comparison in prices is usually not fair. One compares living in Warsaw or Krakow with a high quality of life against living frugally in a small city in Italy. And even then Poland is cheaper.

Correct me if I'm wrong though. But that's why I think Poland will provide a lot "more bang for the buck", sort to speak.

You are right. Though I personally think Italy has some very livable mid-size cities with good attractions for a foreigner, whereas I'm not too sure about Poland. I agree Poland is cheaper in cost of living, especially when comparing the larger cities. And compared to North Italy, taxes are quite a bit lower too.

Though South Italy, if you want to live there, has unbeatable rates for a simple freelancer setup in the EU. And it is cheap. It's a great choice for those who want to live a quiet lifestyle in a warm place.
