Hard to find a good lawyer

Am I just terribly unlucky, or do the attorneys I encounter seem to nickel and dime me for every little thing? It seems I'm dealing with prostitutes.

After shelling out $15,000 for consultation, nominee, and Operational Agreement services, they are now demanding additional fees for LO's, disclaimers, and drafting of agreements.
Every minute detail comes with a price tag of $2,500 to $3,000 - clearly taking advantage of our necessity.

Ironically, on our second phone call””post sharing an extensive 30-page document detailing my business””the attorney posed basic questions that were clearly answered within the document.
This leads me to suspect they didn't even bother to read it. How can I trust an individual who doesn't show genuine engagement, or seems to lack concern for my interests?

In my line of work, meticulous attention to detail is how I generate revenue.
But these lawyers appear to offer generic consulting, rehashing known information, and failing to genuinely engage with the work.
All the while, they are continually seeking opportunities to charge more.

It's disconcerting that their advice always seems ambiguous and empty, with no real advice coming from the consultations.

And how can we instruct them? I sent documentation of 30 pages explaining the business, but it appears they didn't read it.

You may need to find a new law firm. All law firms are not created equal. However voice your concerns to them about this as if you come of as a simp to them they will financially rape you. Learn to call them out so they bring their A game when dealing with you. End of day you are the paying customer and if they overlook basic stuff trust your instinct and look elsewhere.

First of all, it's possible the lawyer you're working with just isn't good. Don't mean to put any blame that belongs to them on you. Just speaking generally here.

The key is to be specific.

"I want to achieve goals X, Y, and Z" are not good instructions for a lawyer in many cases.

"I want to form a company in X, which will do Y, and for which I also need agreements for Z purposes" are clear instructions.

If you are unclear about regulatory standing in a specific country, seek a legal opinion to support your activities. Discuss with the lawyer first to assess whether there's any point seeking such an opinion.

This is the probably the answer to your question.

I'm going to hush on this one. I'm just going to say: I'm sorry you are going through this.
