What would be a good way to change your tax residency so your private swiss bank doesn't give info to your own government (where you are citizen) but to that country where you are tax resident and if possible not even live there?

Great question. I would love to hear the options.

PS. I have one, but I had it grandfathered in since 1993. Never changed it after that! It won't work for you, because I use an address in an island's Free Zone area and there is NO way to know it's not a residential address. I was born on the island, so it doesn't raise suspicion. I also left the island for Uni while I was still a teenager. The TIN #'s didn't even exist there yet (the early 80s), so my passports are clean and void of this #.

Just get tax residency in a new country that does not have minimum period. Problem is will bank respect such a residence if they know its a residence of convenience.

I think Gibraltar Category 2 residency still allows you to be tax resident there without spending any real time there.

P.S In today's world a lot of these banks track where you are regularly logged into their e-banking platform from. So could be problematic.

Well will your actual country respect that if they see you are spending 183+ days with them?
p.s. that is easily avoided with VPN

Your country and bank are separate. Your home country will have its own rules and will almost certainly not entertain this.
