How true is it that Brazilian banks have currency restrictions? The banks in Brazil have foreign currency issues”¦ A foreigner might be at the mercy of banks with no liquidity. If 40 million usd or more winded up in Brazilian banks/accounts, what problems might arise? Lets say the amount is 400 million usd or more... if the biggest privately owned brazilian banks have liquidity issues, what could arise if a foreign depositor decided to have this much money in brazil? If a bank owner in brazil were to tell a new and potential client that they wont be reported to fatca or will be asked for source of funds, might this sound too good to be true? What might be the catch to this offer?

I would consult a lawyer in Brazil before I would sending thousands of $$ their way!

Go to your favorite search engine and type in "brazil capital restriction 2023". The regulations were eased some this year but are still there.
