Hi,

I see some people are talking about setting up a UK limited company as treaty non-resident with a branch in a UAE freezone.

Does anyone have any info about this or experience they can share?

e.g. what would be the costs, required documents, etc., and which freezone to pick for a simple holding company that would invest in other (non-UAE) businesses?

Thanks

I would also have mentioned that one of the above should join the thread they know exactly how to set this up.

Since I have someone in Abu Dhabi who could handle stuff for me there I searched for Abu Dhabi free zones.

I picked ADGM and found this -> https://www.adgm.com/documents/regi...st-registartion-branch-of-foreign-company.pdf

Seems fairly straight forward. Business plan, office lease in ADGM, some other stuff and a total fee of $10k USD.

I'd be curious to know if this is really the correct setup fee and what would be the ongoing yearly costs. On paper this seems like a better option than BVI with substance ($10k/year) as one could get access to UAE DTTs this way.

Company regitration is simple. Just contact Any freezone and provide all document....In some time your company will register but Real issue is getting bank account...

I'd appoint a UK nominee director for the UK limited company and my friend from Abu Dhabi (who has a UAE visa & ID card) as the representative of the branch.

I'm an EU citizen & resident so no problems there either as a shareholder. At least not on paper.
