Hi all. Anyone know what the limits for monthly or annual volumes are, when opening a merchant account for a small US business? I have an eCommerce general merchandise website I need to open a merchant account for and I don't want to raise any flags with the underwriting. I want to point out this is NOT a high risk business.

Limits ”” if any ”” are set based on the risk profile of the merchant, which is a function of company structure, business model, and products/services sold. So it's hard to say.

What are they using to create a risk profile? Any particular software? Or basing just off of credit score?

for monthly should not exceed 10K for it to be considered small business by underwriting team , more than monthly volume ticket size ( sale size ) matters more, if your average sale size is too small to too big will have different boarding criteria.

Thanks for your reply. I'm curious - how do you know this? From experience as a merchant or someone on the inside in this industry?
