They already offer crypto trading but I think it is through bitstamp.
I guess they decided to cut the middle man

True, They realize most new clients are "Crypto People "

Maybe this question was before but anyway - is it good idea to open account there, send btc/eth, change them to usd, and buy for example stocks and etfs on swissquote, hold them a lot of years and just withdraw dividends?

Yes they do, at this point though you should just call them.
It depends on the country

As I know there are CH and LU office. One of them take clients from some countries, second one from other.
