If a Canadian citizen has left the country for another country, say Dubai as an example, and has been a tax resident for 5 - 10 years. If such person were to apply to other tax residency/moving and they request criminal record check (Dubai freelancing visa does not seem to ask for criminal record and merely check for good conduct which mainly seems to check if you're in a good relationship with the local bank), do you get criminal record check from Dubai, Canada or both?

When you are asked for criminal record, the request usually stipulates for how many years back (for every country you've lived in for the past x years). Sometimes, requests also specifically ask for criminal record for a person's country of citizenship.
