I want to know if someone of you can predict if Ethereum will rise again to 2K in the near (very near) future?

Often times, everything goes up or down with BTC, some alts with delay. The focus with ETH is on their scaling, smartcontracts work and get more and more usecases. But tx with smartcontracts can be very expensive, so on UniSwap you exchange $100 worth of tokens but pay $50 in gas (network fees) if you are unlucky. More tx, higher fees.

You need to track their scaling progress, have a look at EIP-1559 (a proposed change) for example: https://hackmd.io/@timbeiko/why-1559

If ETH doesn't scale, they will lose their top spot as smart contract platform, to something like Solana, Polkadot or even Cardano.

eth will likely be over 5k by the end of the year, probably will hit 10k at some point during that time.

now short term this doesn't look very appealing ... also understand that if global markets crash crypto will crash along with it no matter what ... the market cap is just too small for now.

No one can predict that either the front with 100% probability. Especially when it comes to cryptocurrency. I remember how all Bitcoin predicted high stable growth in 2017, and he fell. Then everyone started saying that this collapse. a Bitcoin has grown.
