However, do keep in mind that most digital gambling platforms targeting to Thais are not even located in Thailand. They are usually owned by obscure companies set up somewhere else. Probably not much the Thai government can do about them other than block the websites if they find them, but new ones of course keep popping up with︀ different domains.
As for physical casinos, lots of underground gambling dens in Bangkok and other︁ big cities. These probably have connections with the police through bribes.

Think I commented elsewhere it’s amazing just how many digital gambling platforms operate in︀ Thailand and the people operating them spending the proceeds in Thailand / not a week︁ goes by without some multi billion dollar take down and seizure article being published.

Wealth has power across spectrum - political one as well. Combine wealth, intelligence, education and experience - an influence is a result and the freedom is a consequnce. Rulling class and its administration - government can't control it effectively so they impose taxes and other wealth control mechanisms beside curriculum and media ones.
