This year I sold some rental properties in the USA, I will be a US tax resident for 2022 due to meeting the substantial presense test. Can someone confirm that if one's taxable income for the year (after the $12K standard deduction is applied) is under $40K the Federal CGT rate is 0% ? The state where the rental properties are located has their own CGT I believe but it's not very much.
