But the excitement has somewhat deflated, at least for now, with Trump and all the predictions about crypto. Sure, he may ease regulations, but the massive leap forward for the crypto world didn’t happen. It’s a small indication that there’s a lot of hot air surrounding that man.

You know, in the 80's when the left were the minority, they were the liberals. Now, they are the authoritarians. In short, it is always the minority that calls themselves liberal as they benefit from less laws to get (back) into power. Sad truth, the ruling party has no incentive for any liberal rules. Same goes for the US vs. China dispute. The whole freedom of speech lacking in China discussion is not about the west wanting freedom of speech, they just want to rule the others, which is simply much easier if you can control the discourse in other countries.
