I have read now many places that maybe Panama company can be good solution for my problem.

I have about 400,000 USD that I save in my life for 40 years, and I want protect it from some creditors I owe money.

I not so much want move away from Sweden.

Is this good solution for me or there is better way?

It’s not legal, as has already been pointed⁤ out in this thread. But that’s a separate discussion. You might want to reach out⁣ to some of the specialists here in anonymous companies, such as: @Fred @MichaelUniq @Gediminas and there are more.

I can't promise you they can help but worth asking.

It depends on how skilled and motivated your‍ opponents are, as well as what type of creditors they are and the nature of their claims.

Simply wiring the funds into a Panamanian company isn't much in terms of⁤ asset protection. However, it can create enough of a hassle that many creditors can't or⁣ won't pursue.

Why not pay the creditors?

If Panama itself is particularly interesting, you︁ might find a Panama foundation more interesting. They are quite confidential but not as strong︂ as some other structures if the matter goes to court. For that you might instead︃ want to look at places like Samoa, Nevis, Bahamas, Belize, Cook Islands, or others with︄ stronger asset protection laws.

However, those asset protection laws might not mean much if the︅ origin of the funds is criminal. So it comes back to competence and nature of︆ your opponents and their claims.

Yes, I completely agree with SOLS here. You need to explain what kind of creditors‌ are after you and why you do not want to pay the money.

Convert it to crypto and do self custody.

It’s probably the safest solution.

If you‌ need a bank, you can try a Nevis LLC owned by a trust or a‍ foundation. This way you are no longer the owner of the money.

Make sure the bank account is in a safe jurisdiction, don’t open it in Europe.

My creditors are primarily private investors who believe they are owed a substantial amount of money, which I dispute, but which the court ruled in their favor.
That’s exactly what I was hoping for, this is the last chance, because⁣ otherwise I’ll leave the country and find a place to lay low for the next⁢ ten years.

if there is already a court ruling what you do is a criminal offense! You‌ seriously should rethink and settle with them.

whats a substantial amount here? Half of your 400k? Or all of it?‍ Is it final or can you appeal to the court still?

seems the only option.

What if the‍ court ruling was unjust? What if the other party bribed the judge? Happens all the time in third world countries, including to a friend of mine in a minor landlord-tenant⁤ dispute. Or the whole legal system isnt based on rule of law, but what the⁣ dictator says or which party pays the judges most money? Or the jury/judges take an⁢ irrational dislike of you because of differing political beliefs, or you being of a different︀ ethnic group?

Lee Kuan Yew observed in Singapore that Malays in a jury would tend︁ to be very lenient with other Malays and rule harshly against non-Malays, regardless of right︂ or wrong. So he abolished the jury trial system.

And since OP mentioned Sweden, we︃ have the case of Henrik Alexandersson that had his home abroad raided by police ,︄ and sentenced to 18 months prison, by politically appointed judges, just for very minor incorrect︅ accounting. If he wasnt an outpsoken libertarian and active in the pirate party, the legal︆ system probably wouldnt have bothered with him at all. And those politically appointed judges absolutely︇ hated the pirate party and Alexandersson's whole world view.

So just because there is a︈ court ruling, doesnt necessarily mean that the ruling is just or moral. Even in developed︉ countries with supposedly strong rule of law.

Oh and the great Danish documentary "Den sorte svane" show how criminals influence the Danish‌ legal system by getting cosy with female jurors, to successfully get information about victims and‍ informants, and to get very lenient sentences for serious crimes.

are you seriously a consiracy theorist? Sweden has by far the lowest corruption index in‌ the world. If its a court order its enforcable.
OP did then the mistake not‍ to defend himself in the proceedings so he has to pay the price unfortunately...

Finland has lower corruption index than Sweden. But, anyway, Im saying⁤ that even in a place with a stable democracy, low corruption, total miscarriages of justice⁣ happen, and more frequently than people think.

But let's assume OP is totally innocent and doesnt really owe any money, and the‌ court ruling is utterly wrong - say a criminal gang influenced the jury. (Now I‍ have absolutely no information on the matter - this is just an assumption).

In this case it is a cost benefit analysis what is the right course of action. I⁤ see nothing ethically wrong with escaping the country and making a new life in a⁣ place where OP is hard to reach by the legal system of the country that⁢ is after him.
