How to prove physical presence within the EU

A lawyer told me that it is very hard to prove physical presence within the EU as there are no borders and in order to get accepted for status of 'Habitual abode' other circumstances are looked at, as of job etc.

Does anyone of you know if this is true or went through the process of proving physical presence for habitual abode within the EU?

Utter horse s**t - there are borders for the EU as for EU member state‌ countries the usual - property tax / utilities /

nah, its very easy to⁣ prove. in/out eu is a no brainer with the schengen immigration system.

Inside eu in⁢ a specific country, well card usage for spending/withdrawing euro toilet paper, hence keeping a bank︀ statement which shows these activities.
Plus tickets and as @wellington said utilities...

The topic has come up before; if you need to prove that you live in‌ country A, whether it's in the EU or not doesn't matter, you need a rental‍ contract, to register with the tax system in the respective country, register with a doctor,⁠ get a work contract, get a gym membership, and of course, an internet subscription along⁤ with a rental agreement and related expenses. If you have a dog or cat, take⁣ it to a local vet and get a receipt.

Have all these documents ready so⁢ you can send them directly to any nosy public employee meddling in your affairs, and︀ now no authorities can claim that you don't live there!
