how to alter IMEI (and whatnot)?

looking for an advice and proven ways how to change IMEI and other parameters (if any) on a regular android device to leave a different footprint for the network operator that doesn't like the current one

IMEI changing is illegal in a lot of countries so‌ make sure to check your local laws .
